internalPageImgBlackwood Valley Beef is wholey owned by Wyloo Pastoral Company, a family run company based near Boyup Brook in the picturesque Blackwood Valley region of the South West of W.A.

Owners, the Pensini family have three generations of cattle breeding expertise to draw upon with Warren and Lori now overseeing the business, with Fred and Geraldine still maintaining a keen interest.

Never one to let the grass grow under his feet, Fred has been a dairy farmer at Mundijong, mixed farmed at Mogumber, south of Moora and run a one million acre cattle station in the Pilbara, still managed by elder son Evan and his wife Robin, before buying a farm at Boyup Brook in partnership with Warren and Lori in 2001.

This tendency to easily embrace change has also been instilled in Warren who recognised around six years ago the “old” ways of running a farm and producing beef were not sustainable. It was at that time we made the first steps towards organic, grass-fed beef production by pulling back from using pesticides, chemical fertilisers, and installing cell grazing infrastructure to better manage our farm.

Our property and our cattle are now fully certified organic, having achieved full certification with Australian Certified Organic in January 2011, after a three year qualifying period.

Our philosophy is to not just produce the best quality organic, grassfed beef in W.A., but an eating experience, as not only are we passionate about producing good beef, but we are also passionate about food and how it should be shared and enjoyed.
